Over the last few weeks there was a feeding frenzy served up by our media ridiculing the use of executive time. Many question why anyone would schedule in to their work day such a thing.
My thought of the week is that we need to have more of our day dedicated to executive time not less. The reality is we need to think more, study more, listen more and then think some more again. All too often we fall in to the trap of “death by meetings” where we are too busy in structured meetings to actually effectively lead. We all should step back, reflect and recognize that it is easy to fall In to a routine. I know that I have and many times.
Take a moment and review your schedule. See if you could benefit from more executive time? Remember, being busy does not mean you are being productive.
